What is Oil Immersed Transformer and Dry Type Transformer?
A distribution transformer is a transformer that provides a final voltage transformation in the electric power distribution system, stepping down the voltage used in the distribution lines to the level used by the customer.
Distribution transformers are classified into different categories based on certain factors such as:
Mounting location – pole, pad, underground vault
Type of insulation – liquid-immersed or dry-type
Number of Phases – single-phase or three-phase
Voltage class
Basic impulse insulation level (BIL).
Below we mainly talk about the type of insulation and number of phases which our factory mainly produce.
Oil-immersed transformer:
1). Oil-filled transformers use liquids for cooling, making them highly suitable for outdoor applications. They are more efficient, have longer service lives, and feature more reliable overload capabilities.
2). The transformer body adopts a new insulation structure, which improves the short-circuit resistance.
3). The transformer core is made of high-quality cold-rolled silicon steel sheets with high magnetic conductivity.
4). The transformer core consists of high/low-voltage windings are selected high-quality oxygen-free copper wire, and multi-layer cylindrical structure.
5). All fasteners with special anti-loosening treatment.
6) The oil tank is corrugated structure, the cover and the edge of the box are completely welded or fastened with bolts in two types, which fundamentally prolongs the service life of the transformer oil and insulating materials.
Dry Type Transformer:
Resin insulated dry-type transformer, due to the coil is encapsulated by epoxy resin, so it is flame retardant, fireproof, explosion-proof, maintenance-free, non-polluting, small in size, and can be directly placed in the load center. Due to the scientific and reasonable design and casting process, the product has smaller partial discharge, low noise, strong heat dissipation ability, and can be operated for a long time under 125% of the rated load under the condition of forced air-cooling, and is equipped with a temperature controller, which has the functions of fault alarm, over-temperature alarm, over-temperature trip, and black-box function, and is connected to the computer through the RS485 serial interface to enable centralized monitoring and control.
